Our Story

It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very beginning, to write unto thee...

It was New Years Eve and the family of God was gathered for another watch night service.  The people of God came off their knees after entering in to 2014 with prayer.  As the saints rejoiced for another year gone and the newness of the one to come, Elder Abraham Belanger heard the Lord speak to him clearly in the midst of the praises of God's people.  "This is the year to start the work." - God

Knowing assuredly that the Lord had spoken to him, he informed his wife what God had said.  She humbly and quietly agreed, immediately seeking God's direction as they moved forward together in this new endeavor.  Elder Belanger fasted for two weeks and on a Tuesday evening the Lord led him to inform his pastor about the work to be done in planting a new church.  Upon hearing the man of God's words, Bishop Herbert C. Heyward immediately asked him, "Do you have a building yet?"  While he was just gathering enough courage to bring this to his pastor, God confirmed to him His direction through the immediate blessing of his pastor to move forward.

A few weeks went by as Elder Abraham Belanger began searching for a place to begin the ministry.  All the hotel meeting rooms were booked with other church launches.  One night, sitting upstairs in his office, a man of God called him and began to encourage him in the Lord.  The man of God prophesied and said, "You have been driving pass your building the whole time.  The next time you drive past it, you will see it, know it is yours, and when you call the landlord about the building, they will give it to you for what you ask."  With a faith-filled amen, Elder Belanger received the prophesy not knowing that it would be fulfilled within the next 24 hours.

The next morning Elder Belanger woke up early to take his children to school.  As he was driving, he noticed a building for lease.  With excitement, he quickly dropped off his children, rushed back to the building, pulled into the parking lot, looked through the windows, and said to himself, "This is it!"  After walking around the building, he saw a piece of paper with the amount of the monthly lease but he remembered what the prophet said the night before.  So he called the number on the building and spoke directly with Mr. Tony Berenyi, the landlord and very successful business man.  After sharing the vision of the church plant, Mr. Berenyi asked how much we wanted to lease the building for.  Immediately, Mr. Berenyi had his secretary draw up a contract and within 24 hours Elder Belanger had access to the new building.

After a few months of preparation and many people within whom God moved on their hearts to donate everything we needed to begin, we opened our doors the first month of May 2014 to a packed out service!

Over the course of the beginning of the ministry, God added to the church daily, saving souls, delivering people from all walks of life, and through the years have become the church we are today.  Our ministries are growing from small groups such as W.O.W. (Women of Worth) and Joshua's Army to the Summerville Food Bank, God has allowed us to expand our in-reach as well as our out-reach into the Summerville community at large!

Today we continue our journey to become THE center of fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism in Summerville.  Our testimony from the first day we opened until now is that people feel the love of God and the welcoming spirit of our ministry when they walk through the doors.  We are and will always be the church that is "Loving God and Loving People!"

Our Beliefs

And they continued stedfastly in the apostle's doctrine

About the Bible  The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. (See II Timothy 3:15-17.)

About God  There is one God, who has revealed Himself as Father; through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by emanation. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man. (See Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16.)

About Sin and Salvation  Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. (See Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9.)

About the Gospel  The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (II Thessalonians 1:8; I Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (resurrection). (See I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4.)

About Christian Living  As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today. (See Mark 12:28-31; II Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; I Corinthians 12:8-10.)

About the Future  Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death. (See I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15.)

More Than a Church

A Welcoming Church at the Heart of Summerville

Church should be a place your family should be excited about attending!  What we have learned from listening to many families and individuals is that they want to have a place of worship that is comfortable, inviting, warm, and friendly.  They want messages that are practical for their everyday living, music that is upbeat, events for their children to get involved in, and ways to really just fulfill their life.

Our pastor and first lady are amazing people, with hearts of gold! They have children from toddler level through college so they understand what it is like to balance work/life/church! Along with them, our church family is awesome - multicultural, down to earth, from every walk of life, and ready to welcome you right in.  So come be our guest, meet the pastor and his lovely wife of over 18 years, and see what we are all about!
